Sebastian currently works as a process engineer in the downstream sector and focuses intensively on the implementation, optimisation and scaling of chromatography processes. He contributes his extensive knowledge of GE Healthcare's industry-leading Unicorn software, which he familiarised himself with during his studies. This software, which is tailored to the specific requirements of biotechnology, enables him to control the complex processes precisely and efficiently.
Sebastian's core responsibilities include transferring innovative development processes from the laboratory to an industrial scale. He is responsible for the technical scaling as well as the creation and maintenance of the relevant routine documentation to ensure that all processes are reproducible, efficient and compliant with regulations.
His area of responsibility includes complex process steps such as affinity chromatography, chemical virus filtration, tangential flow filtration (TFF) and final product preparation. Thanks to his in-depth experience with GE Healthcare's Unicorn software, Sebastian is able to optimally monitor and continuously develop the processes.
With his expertise, he makes a significant contribution to ensuring that the production processes for high-quality proteins are stable, safe and economically successful.
